FREE Family Learning in Schools and in Communities
Family learning matters. It matters because parental engagement in family learning has a large and positive impact on children’s learning, giving children greater confidence and self-belief, with measurable benefits to their literacy, language and numeracy skills.
It matters because, for parents, especially those parents who are considered difficult to engage, the wish to better support their children is often the key motive in overcoming any practical, financial or dispositional barriers to learning. Just as importantly, family learning matters because it is a source of stimulation, joy and solidarity for adults and children alike.
Families learning together is a great experience for both children and their adults. A lovely opportunity to spend creative time together. We are pleased that we are able to offer FREE Family Learning across Rotherham, through our Schools and communities.
Our programme is varied and interactive and allows adults and children of all ages, to engage creatively in our learning workshops. Our workshops cover a range of subjects and activities, including, engineering, coding and flying drones, arts/crafts, historical and music activities. There is something for everyone! Family learning is such a wonderful opportunity for adults to work together with their child, to learn new skills and spend quality fun time together.
We will tailor our workshops to compliment topics being studied in school. This will hopefully engage and link families in the whole learning process of their children.
Our programme has been extremely successful, please see our testimonials from School Senior Leaders. We engage between 2000 and 2500 families each academic year.
Schools who wish to offer our FREE programme to their families and school community, please contact us to discuss your school requirements.
