The Healthy Schools Consultant is Kay Denton-Tarn, a teacher with 18 years experience teaching in schools and latterly an Education Consultant working with staff in secondary, primary, special and Pupil Referral Units. Kay supports schools with their Healthy Schools related work, a major focus of which is school provision for PSHE and supports schools to share good practice. On behalf of South Yorkshire Kay ran the CPD for the National PSHE CPD qualification for several years. Kay maintains links with local, regional and national organisations to remain up to date with current issues, trends, resources and practice.

Being aware that schools do not work in silos, Kay supports schools to recognise how their work on this agenda supports the ever changing educational landscape, including Spiritual Moral Social and Cultural (SMSC) provision, the promotions of British Values and how these support the Prevent agenda and also the recent focus on ‘character education’.

We can support your school through the process of Healthy Schools accreditation and also with the development of Personal Social and Health Education, including Sex and Relationships Education and drug education. Support around SMSC, British Values, Prevent and Character are also available.
